Ebbie Sheehan
Ebbie Sheehan began his fishing career at 18 years of age and has spent most of his working life at sea as a skipper. He is currently managing Sheehan’s Fishing Company, a marine supply store that also operates two fishing boats – Boy Jason and Conquest. He is also a shareholder in Ocean Reaper Ltd, which operates two boats – Amadeus and Keriolet. Ebbie was nominated chairman of the Irish Fishermen’s Organisation in 2010; his main priority in the role is to see Ireland’s whitefish fleet get a fairer deal on the quota share-out so that the industry can prosper for the next generation. Ebbie is married to Sheila and has three children: Jason, a skipper and shareholder in Sheehan’s Fishing Co; Rachel, a primary school teacher; and Blayne, who is based in Holland working in the equestrian industry.
