Exports of Fishery Products to Hong Kong
The Food Safety Authorities in Hong Kong (FEHD) require specific health certificates to be used for exports to Hong Kong.
There are two versions of the health certificates and certificates of origin for use for exports to Hong Kong:
- Health Certificate and a certificate of origin to be used for Live Bivalve Molluscs (including razor clams)
- Health Certificate and a certificate of origin to be used for all other fishery products (excluding live bivalve molluscs)
The two versions of the health certificates and certificates of origin for use for exports to Hong Kong are available on application to approved establishments from the local SFPA port office.
Please note: For exports of live bivalve molluscs (LBMs) (including razors clams), the health certificate and certificate of origin now include additional fields to help clearly display the production area of origin.
The information below sets out the type of traceability details that must be included on these certificates, in this case for the example of razor clams harvested from the production area Dundalk Bay:

In other geographical locations for all LBMs, change the above information as necessary.
The regular Hong Kong health certificate and certificate of origin should be used for exports of all other fishery products excluding LBMs destined for Hong Kong. The format of these documents has not changed.
As sometimes restrictions have been placed on exports of certain fishery products from Ireland to Hong Kong, it is important to monitor any notifications from the Trade Compliance and Internal Audit unit in relation to any changes.
