Gear Codes
Three-letter codes for different commercial gear types are laid out in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 404/2011. Gear codes available in ieCatch V3 - the current version of the Irish electronic logbook software - are listed in the tables below. Vessel operators must ensure that they accurately record the type of gear used in their fishing logbook.
